Powder coating

Powder Coating Technology Process at GRAŻKA Sp. z o.o.

The powder coating process is one of the most modern and effective techniques for painting metal surfaces, including galvanized ones.
At our company, we apply powdered paint to metal elements using electrostatic spraying. The powder, with a grain size ranging from approximately 10 µm to 100 µm, adheres tightly to the painted surface through this application method.
After painting, the powder is cured at a very high temperature, creating a smooth surface free of drips and wrinkles.
Our process is based on state-of-the-art equipment and technologies designed for coating both galvanized and black steel surfaces.
By using specialized surface preparation technologies, we are able to achieve the highest aesthetic quality.

To enhance both corrosion resistance and decorative qualities, we use a chemical bath.
This treatment improves the adhesion of various types of paint coatings with different gloss levels, textures, structures, and RAL colors available in our offer.
One of our key advantages is a 5-zone curing oven with circulation, featuring working dimensions of 1200 mm (W) × 2300 mm (H) × 10200 mm (L), which allows us to handle large-scale orders and professionally coat oversized components.
The entire process concludes with careful packaging and delivery to the customer.
If you value quality and satisfaction, we invite you to take advantage of our service.

The coating process in the ROMER system consists of:

Preliminary surface preparation

Pneumatic orbital and finger sanders, sanding discs 737U, 150 mm 3M™ Cubitron™ II in grits P60+, P80+, and P120+ are used.
Chemical treatment is carried out using a workstation washer equipped with a chemical application station. The process uses 2-in-1 chemistry Kairo-SURF PF, which is innovative due to its very low working temperatures (25–27 °C) and complete absence of phosphates.
Corrosion protection of steel is provided by zirconium oxide, the main component of the conversion coating formed during the zirconation process.
Kairo-SURF PF is a 2-in-1 product that simultaneously cleans and forms a conversion layer in a single step.
The second stage of chemical preparation involves rinsing the agent with running water.

Preliminary heat treatment

Zinc degassing – this stage combines drying of the components with the degassing process.
During this step, the workpieces are heated to over 200 °C while maintaining full surface preparation properties thanks to the use of Kairo-SURF PF chemistry.

Powder coating

The application process is carried out by a specialized team of employees operating electrostatic paint spraying equipment from ROMER.
Powder coatings – we currently use powders based on polyester resin and Primid hardener.
This formulation was developed as an alternative to Polyester/TGIC systems.
It is designed for coating exterior materials, particularly in the aluminium profile industry, where increased resistance to UV radiation and moisture is required.
These products are Qualicoat certified.

Final processing

Curing and polymerization are ensured by a convection oven with working dimensions of 1200 mm (W) × 2300 mm (H) × 10200 mm (L), allowing us to handle large-scale orders and professionally coat oversized components.
